2020 VISION MINISTRY CAMPAIGN:

CREATING SPACE SO THAT THE CITY CAN ENCOUNTER

JESUS THROUGH A NEW FAMILY LIFE CENTER

the reason for the 2020 Vision...

"Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen." (Ephesians 3:20-21 NASB)

As we feel the Lord leading us to create space where the city can encounter Jesus through a new Family Life Center, we have initiated a Capital Campaign to reach that goal. This campaign has sought to align and unite us toward a common goal. We have prayed for vision, wisdom, and the grace to bring unity in our ongoing efforts to reveal and reflect Christ as we love and serve the city. We have asked the Lord to prepare us to sacrifice equally toward the goal of raising the resources to build a new Family Life Center. First, we must unite behind the common mission that we have been given as a church. Then, Lord willing, we will joyfully embrace giving generously from the resources God has entrusted to us. Sacrifice involves faith. Equal sacrifice means we will all be exercising faith.

Careful evaluation of the potential costs of building a new Family Life Center, together with a realistic assessment of our CBC family, has led to the establishment of a faith goal. The purpose of a faith goal is to involve faith in our giving. To meet this goal we will need to give beyond what is easy or comfortable and trust the Lord with our personal resources. Our faith goal is 2 million dollars. This amount will enable us to proceed with building a new Family Life Center without incurring financial debt.

FREQUENTLY asked questions

Question:

Why do we need to start a Capital Campaign now?

Answer:

As we have grown as a church, the result is that we are running out of ministry space to love and serve children, Jr. and Sr. High students, and their families. In addition, statistics estimate that 8 out of 10 people in the Bullhead City community remain unchurched, i.e., they do not know  Jesus and/or have no church home. A new Family Life Center will create space to love and serve our community more  effectively by creating space for the city to encounter Jesus.

Question:

What is the total project cost?

Answer:

Approximately $2 million.

Question:

When does the Capital Campaign start and how long will it run?

Answer:

We will receive donations to the Campaign  from March 2017 to May 2020.

Question:

How will the project be funded?

Answer:

The congregation has approved funding the project through a combination of gifts and commitments to be collected over three years.

Question:

Why are donors asked to fill out commitment cards?

A:

Donors are asked to fill out commitment cards so that the church can get a snapshot of the overall  progress made toward the campaign goal, so it can plan as money from the  commitments are received.  Commitment cards are not legally binding.

Do I have flexibility in making my financial commitment?

Answer:

Yes, these are the general categories under which you can make your commitment:

                                1.            A lump sum from accumulated cash.

                                2.            Regular campaign giving of a designated amount such as weekly,, bi-weekly, or monthly.

                                3.            A non-cash asset such as property, stocks, bonds, etc. *

*The donation of appreciated assets, such a stocks or real estate, usually has tax benefits for the donor. We recommend  you check with your tax advisor for verification.

Question:

When should I begin fulfilling my financial commitment?

 Answer:

You can begin immediately following Commitment Sunday. One time gifts should be given as you indicate on your final commitment card.

Question :

Will I make my commitment publicly?

No. Your giving will be handled with the same confidentiality as regular tithes and offerings.

Question:

Will I have the opportunity to revise my commitment?

Answer:

Absolutely. Should you feel the Lord leading you to alter your commitment, you may do so.

Question:

If my income increases, should I put the increase towards my regular giving or to the Capital Campaign?

Answer:

We would ask that you seek the Lord's direction as to how you allocate future increases.
