build the VISION MINISTRY CAMPAIGN:

Raising the resources to build the vision of creating a space where

the city can encounter Jesus through a new Family Life Center!!

the reason for build the Vision...

"Then King David said to the entire assembly, "My son Solomon, whom alone God has chosen, is still young and inexperienced and the work is great; for the temple is not for man, but for the LORD God… Who then is willing to consecrate himself this day to the LORD?" (1 Chronicles 29:1, 5 NASB)

In May of 2017 we launched the 2020 Vision, which was a three-year capital campaign with the goal to raise resources for a new Family Life Center. Since May of 2017, as a result of your open-handed generosity over and above regular giving, we have raised over $634,000 toward the 2020 Vision. Overall, as of May 1st, we have over $805,000 available towards the construction of the new Family Life Center. Experts on Capital Campaigns state that a successful Capital Campaign will raise approximately 1.5 times an organization’s annual budget. The 2020 Vision accomplished that goal by raising 1.6 times our annual budget. Second, a successful Capital Campaign will increase overall generosity and giving in a church that will be reflected by increased giving to a church’s general budget. And we have seen this reality play out here at City Bible Church. In 2017, an average adult gave $35 to the general fund. In 2018, an average adult gave $37 to the general fund. In 2019, an average adult gave $43 to the general fund. Third, and most importantly, as a church we raised these resources without taking away from our annual budget. We raised more resources to accomplish more to advance God’s kingdom mission here at City Bible Church than ever before while giving over and above to the 2020 Vision through such ministries as the annual "Saturday of Service", adopting a local elementary school, providing scholarships for children to participate in the Boys and Girls Club Summer Program, and an Emergency Assistance Window to meet the pressing and practical needs of the community. As a church, we have been able to continue to advance the kingdom mission we have been given as a church while raising over $634,000 toward the 2020 Vision. We look forward to all that God has planned for our church as we enter into a new chapter build that vision that will create additional space that will enable us to continue to engage in the kingdom mission that we have been given by Jesus. We look forward to the day that people we do not even know yet will say "Thank you" for introducing me to Jesus, as we continue to be the vehicle that He uses to reveal Himself in the community!!

As we feel the Lord leading us to raise the remaining resources necessary to build the vision that has been cast to create space where the city can encounter Jesus through a new Family Life Center, we have initiated a second Capital Campaign to reach that goal. This campaign has sought to align and unite us toward a common goal. We have prayed for vision, wisdom, and the grace to bring unity in our ongoing efforts to reveal and reflect Christ as we love and serve the city. We have asked the Lord to prepare us to sacrifice equally toward the goal of raising the remaining resources to build a new Family Life Center.  First, we must unite behind the common mission that we have been given as a church. Then, Lord willing, we will joyfully embrace giving generously from the resources God has entrusted to us. Sacrifice involves faith. Equal sacrifice means we will all be exercising faith. Careful evaluation of the potential costs of building a new Family Life Center, together with a realistic assessment of our CBC family, has led to the establishment of a faith goal. The purpose of a faith goal is to involve faith in our giving. To meet this goal, we will need to give beyond what is easy or comfortable and trust the Lord with our personal resources. Our faith goal is $600,000. This amount will enable us to proceed with building a new Family Life Center without incurring financial debt.
